Carla + Josh
Blue Mountain Resort
Carla and Josh are just the sweetest, it was such a huge pleasure to be able to capture their beautiful day at the stunning, Blue Mountain Resort.
Id been anticipating their wedding day for a long time, since last June to be exact. As many of you know, we’ve had quite a crazy start to the summer with regards to the weather in our area. No surprise, we had the most insane weather for Carla and Josh’s wedding day. It started out sunny and HOT, with a few light showers, so everyone decided to chance it with an outdoor ceremony. Half way through their vows, it starts pouring rain (which for the record made for some pretty adorable ceremony shots) and it didn’t stop there. We had only one short break in rain to shoot some family portraits before the severe thunder storms, and tornado warning started. I’m not talking about a light rain here, it was torrential downpours, and a tornado actually touched down a short 40km away from us. By far the craziest wedding weather situations of my life, and not a chance we could even stand outside for a second without being soaked from head to toe. As photographers, this is our worst nightmare, especially with a wedding party of almost 20 people! Carla and Josh handled the situation with SO much grace, considering the circumstances of having to shoot almost all the portraits indoors. Thank goodness for the absolutely stunning décor by Lucy Myer Events. All-in-all, their wedding was one of the most stunning ever, and these two are so beautiful inside and out. I couldn’t have imagined a situation like this going any smoother than it did, Carla and Josh smiled and laughed all day long, completely embracing the chaos.
